Sejak dirilisnya chipset Intel Z68 Express, banyak pabrikan mainboard yang berlomba-lomba memproduksi motherboard yang kompatibel dengan chipset Intel Z68, salah satunya adalah Asus. Asus menyematkan fitur overclocking pada motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro dengan adanya 2 switch untuk mengaktifkan fitur EPU (Energy Processing Unit) dan TPU (TurboV Processing Unit).
Selain itu, Asus P8Z68-V Pro juga mendukung memory dual channel lewat 2 buah slot DIMM. Motherboard satu ini juga didukung Firewire, Super I/O controller, dan port USB 3.0 yang terintegrasi dengan ASMedia ASM1042 SuperSpeed USB Host Controller.
Secara keseluruhan, Asus P8Z68-V Pro memiliki 7 slot ekspansi, antara lain 3 slot PCI Express x16, 2 slot PCI Express x1, dan 2 slot PCI. Sayangnya, bandwith PCI Express yang dilayani chipset Intel Z68 begitu terbatas.
Asus pun menyisipkan fitur DIGI+ VRM di motherboard besutannya tersebut agar dapat menyuplai listrik ke prosesor lewat desain 12+4 phase VRM.
